I think it is a record so far - but there never has been one this mint on ebay before and perhaps never will

He must have forgotten to post the eBay auction number.

I see. Any idea as to what auction he was referring to? I'm often filled with part amazement and part horror when I see the prices some things sell for on eBay. It's quite remarkable.

Ah, okay. Now I've got it. That was quite the auction. The C64GS is rare enough and one that is in mint condition in the box, well, that's pretty amazing. It worked out well for everyone because you got a great price for it and the buyer got something that will be a source of pride for their collection.

It's when I see people paying hundreds of dollars for a 1541 or something like that, I just think everyone involved is nuts.

There is another C64GS for sale.

Though it is in well used shape with worn box. Hard to tell from the picture but it looks a bit yellowed.

I guess he saw how much doobie's unit went for and wanted to strike while it was a hot item.

The C64GS I was talking about, auction 200037454127, went for $205 U.S.

That is a really good price too, for a worn and used one.

Nowhere near the $700 for the mint one though. I guess everyone really realized there just wont be another like that for sale ever again.

Now I wish I would have bid.

Though I snipe things, so my bid would not even have shown up unless it was more than the top price. The sniping software doesn't even bother unless its top bid at the moment it goes to post.
