Got a c64 breadbox style from fleabay as untested. pluged it all in to find out it was booting up to a black screen, if rapidly turnd on and off it comes up with one color or flashes so iv identified the problem to be the pla chip.

After any desoldering of the old chip and installation of a socket, you just put in the new replacement chip, and away you go. Nothing else has to be done.
