please help

Post by brett »

Hi is there anyone who can help I did something really stupid about 20 years ago and put my trusty C64’s away for safe keeping but forgot that paper perishes. I pulled them out of the roof only to find that something has eaten the paper sleeves. (which were not wrapped around the disks thankfully) or more importantly the command codes. I have tried the usual
LOADâ€￾*â€￾,8,1
LOADâ€￾0:*,8
and so on but it only works for a few games, is there any command I can use to find the root directory on the disks. The machines are working perfectly, it is definitely a user error and not a machine problem.
Cheers

If you don't get a ready prompt when the machine powers up, then it isn't in good shape.
