Commodore to Introduce "High Speed Gaming PC"

Post by administrator »

It is expected to be a real gamers PC running Windows (not a console) sold primarily in Europe.

You can either attend the CeBIT this week (Mar 15) to see and play with the new boxes or you can see what is happening at http://commodoregaming.com/

Am I the only person who thinks Dell isn't quaking (no pun intended) in their boots?
Call me Golan; my parents did.

What the critics of C= Gaming are missing is Geography.

The new C= Gaming is UK based. No one of note, is building Alienware quality boxes on a large scale in Europe today.

There is nothing that Vodoo (which was started in the next house over from mine in Calgary, in case anyone cares) and Alienware build that you could not build yourself. What they have going for them, is the effort to test advanced configurations and put them into cool looking cases.

In the same way the Dell and IBM brought black to PC's, and Vodoo and Alienware brought expensive cases into vogue, C= may popularize "wrapping" PC's with skins.

Also, now that Dell and HP have consumed these interesting companies, there is a great likelyhood they will diminish in relavance.

I personally think that C= has about a 50% chance of making this a viable long term business. However the cost creating this business is very low, and the rewards could be high. As such I think this is a solid business decision and I wish them well.
