CBM 4032 - no image - C25 resistor / inductor ?

Post by CBdicX »

hello, i have a CBM 4032 (220v) and it shows no image.
I am not very technical but i can see that on the mainboard a resistor or maybe a inductor is missing on the C25 spot.
Just two sloder points are sticking out the board.
Can this be the problem of not getting an image on screen ?
And if so, what is the part (number resitor level ect) i should buy to solder in the C25 spot ?

Hope someone can help.......

PS. can a 8032 motherboard be used in this model ???????

You'll have to check to see which motherboard you have, then reference the schematics here:

On my 4032 (motherboard 8032090) there is a capacitor at C25 (C=capacitor, R=resistor) even though it looks like a resistor. According to the schematics it's a Ceramic Axial .1 uF 50V.

Hello Steve, thank you for your info.
I had a look on the motherboard but can not find any 8032090 on the board.
Also looking at a schematic is someting for me like asking a blindman to read the newspaper :-)
As there is a part missing on the C25 spot, i hope this is why i do not get any reaction from the monitor.
Do you think when i ask in a store a Ceramic Axial .1 uF 50v they know what i want ?????

Looking from the front, on the front right of the board is the peizio (speaker). Moving from there going to the back along the right edge of the board you will find the number (if it is the same board as mine).

This missing capacitor may be the cause. In the schematic it appears to be part of the voltage regulator. Perhaps the capacitor blew up... I had a stereo once and heard a giant bang and it died. Opened it up and there was fluff everywhere and a big hole in the top of a huge capacitor... fun.

I'm sure any reputable electronics part dealer should be able to help you.
The capacitor on my board is yellow and looks like all the other ones nearby.

Hi Steve, think we have differents boards as i can not find the number or the peizio speaker where you say....
I will try and get the part at a local shop, found this also on Ebay but i have to buy 100 of them at $9.00 so its not the money :-)
They have a different shape as the capacitors on the board but thats the differents between 1978 and 2007 i gess.
Thanks for all your help :-)
