Commodore 802

I have a Commodore 802 printer. I can print from my C64 screen to the printer but when I try to print from a basic program on my C64, it will not print. I looked at the manual for the 802, and it appears there is a short basic program to enter into the computer so you can control the printer from a basic proram. I tried it with no success. The program I am trying to print from is "The Newsroom." Any help would be greatly appreciated! Doug
