Ray Carlsen now repairing RAMLinks

Post by rbernardo »

Having done his first successful repairs on early and late model RAMLinks, and finding a source for GAL chips, veteran Commodore repair technician Ray Carlsen is announcing that he will repair RL's. This is what he wrote:

I believe I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Schematics are not forthcoming, so if I encounter a problem that is not one of those IC's, there is nothing anyone could do except chip (the rest of them) swaps and seat-of-the-pants diagnosis of how each chip is supposed to function. That's the kind of thing that can really eat up bench time but I'm willing to try. To do that, I'd have to socket all of the chips in both versions of RL I use as test beds.
