Looking for a working Commodore 64 Unit

I am wondering if anyone has a commodore 64 in the area of the GTA or Peterborough that they are willing to part with. What I am looking for is the console and powersupply. I have a working disk drive and controllers and all that just really need the console and powersupply. Despite my urging, about 4 years ago my father put my old commodore in the attic and (like I told him) this killed it. Now he is looking to get it working again but as you might of guessed no place sells them anymore. I would be willing to pay a little for it please send me a message and let me know. Long live the C64

Thanks

If you are not concerned with it having an original box or it looking really pretty, you can find them on eBay for as low as 1 penny. They put them up with no reserve and there are so many of them that not many bid.

I once bought a lot of 2 C=64s with power supplies and an assortment of tape drives, joysticks, etc, for only $1.

Just keep an eye out for something close to your area so you can get cheap shipping.

And avoid them from Canada. Not that there is anything wrong with Canada, it just takes too long for them to ship from there. Probably something to do with hold ups in customs.

My mistake. You are in Canada, so I guess I mean you should avoid them from the U.S. :)

But again, only because shipping takes longer.

Killed it or some of the keys just don't work very well/seem dead?

You could get one from the Toronto PET User's Group although the prices are a little on the high side (compared to the average selling prices on eBay). Another option would be to ask on the Toronto CBM mailing list. There are lots of folks from Ontario on that list and I bet someone could set you up with a 64 for very little money. It's also a great place to find out about any and all local Commodore oriented events.
