Hey Scott,

How much are you asking for everything and what condition is everything in? Also, you list a 1551 drive? Is that correct; not 41 or 71?

Thanks much,

Merrill

You are correct, it is a 1571 drive - I typed in the wrong number on my
post! I am asking $100 or best offer for all the items listed. Everything
is in excellent condition plus I have the original boxes, manuals and cables for all the hardware.

I recently tested the system and discovered that I can't bring it up in 64
mode, but 128 mode works fine. I'm not technical enough to do anything
about it, but thought someone else could, so I decided to sell it.

I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance to deliver everything to the
buyer since shipping can be very expensive. Please let me know if you have any interest when you get a chance...Thanks!

Put all that on eBay and you'll get a good price for it. Especially if you have all the original boxes.

Keep that in mind if you cant find a seller here.

On eBay I would expect $100 to $200 easy for a complete system including monitor. Plus the buyer would pay shipping costs so you wouldn't have to worry about that.

Your estimate sounds about right to me. He can insist that the buyer pays shipping whether he sells it here or through eBay though. The only concern is that the 128 isn't 100% functional and that might scare off a buyer. TPUG in Toronto sells a 128 system with a 1571, monitor and a couple of joysticks for $75 (if memory serves) and GEOS is available for free so the printer and additional software is what will help move the system.

Wow. Thats a great price. Though I will guess that it is not for one with all original boxes and manuals as he described.

As a collector, the first thing I look for is the condition of the original boxes. Since the unit itself can be repaired easy enough.

What's good is that he was very up front about the hardware problem. Most eBay sales say something like "Powered on and seems to work fine" and will hide these problems with their clever words.

But again, he says he has original boxes and manuals for all hardware listed, and that is rare. The problem with the 128 would just mean I would get it cheaper, so I would bid. (if I didn't already have a NIB unit)
