Commodore Phoenix Questions

This forum was the place to post questions about "New Commodore" USA PC's like the Pheonix, Invictus and Amigo but given their demise, we are expanding to include the 2015 incarnation of Commodore which includes internet access, smart phones and more.

Commodore Phoenix Questions

Post by v'ger »

I think it might be a good idea to have a thread about the Commodore Phoenix and related questions.

Here are my questions:

1. How to get the optional components for the Commodore Phoenix?
2. How to get components that are included in the larger models but omitted in the smaller ones?

(I know the shop is being worked on)

3. How to get the EFI module?
4. When I multiboot a Commodore Phoenix with the EFI module, will this solve the problem of Windows overwriting the GRUB boot loader after major updates? I.e. can I install GRUB out of the reach of Windows then? (for instance on the EFI module, or on the Linux boot partition?)
5. How to get the removable HDD kit?

Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

Another question:

It appears that the Phoenix is a rebranded Cybernet ZPC GX-31.

What advantage does it have to purchase it from Commodore USA?

Does it have at least a Commodore sticker? :)

(BTW, I don't care about the rebranding as long as the product is good!)

I think all these question could be asked on http://www.commodoreusa.net and http://www.commodore-amiga.org which is the manufacturer of the Commodore Phoenix Computer...
