Gideon Zweijtzer has released news about the 1541 Ultimate II. New features are:

The PCB is 30% smaller.

There is a MicroSD card slot, instead of a full-size SD slot.

A real-time clock is implemented for correct file time and date.

It uses a larger FPGA which enables the implementation of more features.

There is a USB host port which can be used to connect USB memory sticks.

The Ethernet port has been removed, due to design considerations and reliability.

----

He also has plans to make an suitable case for the device and is planning an initial run of 100 of the new version.

Visit Gideon's website for more details and pictures of the 1541U-II.
