The first raffle prize of the show is announced; it's a Commodore SX-64 (again).
As usual, raffle tickets are one for $10 or three for $20. You can buy the raffle tickets at the show or by check/money order through the postal mail. Other forms of payment, contact me.

It's been a tradition to have fairly big raffle prizes, the tradition having been started all the way back to CommVEx v1 in which we had a highly-modded flat C128 for raffle.

At last Saturday's TOGA meeting, I picked up a package to be used as a CommVEx door prize. It's an Amiga 500 (and Amiga 4000)-compatible "city-building" game called, "The Settlers". Other than the title, everything else -- the box, the instruction book, the three disks -- are all in French! Thanks to visiting Leif Bloomquist from the Toronto PET User Group for translating a bit of it to give us an idea how compatible it was.

All CommVEx v6 attendees will receive a copy of the MossyCon 5 CD of over 1,000 Commodore and Amiga programs, a CD that the late Dave "Lord Ronin" Mohr produced last year.

At his movie night dinner party last night, Amiga engineer R.J. Mical kindly autographed the A1200 that we have for the CommVEx raffle this year.

Though I did not bring my camera to photograph R.J. signing, "patman" took photos, which also include the two, lucite, Amiga Launch souvenirs that R.J. received back on July 23, 1985. The first Amiga Launch souvenir was a pyramid about 4 inches high with Amiga Launch and the date inscribed on it. The second was a rectangular block which had 3 Amiga chips and the date inscribed on the block. I hope to get copies of those photos soon.
