Trade Data / Last Trade Apr 14, 2009 $.01

That is more than a month without a trade. Two words come to mind when I look at the graph: FLAT LINE

Image

and on Tulip/Nefields site (http://www.nedfield.com) their Image button takes you to http://www.commodorecorp.com which is dead!

This is not unexpected when the Nefields divisions are declaring bankruptcy: http://www.nedfield.com/Default.aspx?cms=6

This is not a good day (month, year...) for the Commodore brand.

Dieing maybe, but not dead... I hope

I wonder if this is a wind up process in which the brand will yet again be locked in stasis, or if some other entity is going to take a run at producing Commodore products.

www.commodoreworld.com is dead and under new ownership
www.commodorecorp.com is old but I found products on it I had not seen before (TV and Touch Screens).

Also the SEC filing show Ben Van Wijhe has been recertified as the CEO.

Hey dudes,
I know it sucks this story about what happened with the fall of the empire and all this stuff, consult how many children who are now adults lost there gaming scedule and lost their amiga and stuff like that...the world had changed ever since and s.m.a.r.t. tec layed the new wolrd order hand upon our smile and laufhs...lot of people who we were together are now gone and resting in the fields of heavens...people lost their jobs and others lost their souls...i dont wont to been blame from putting a diskete of dos by the label microsoft over my commodore pc...it was the same programme but other manufactore...i was nine then i hardly knew how to talk in english...i guess i have a part of responsibility for this but i am very sorry for had done such an act...i would try my best to sell commodore pc's and amigas all across the galaxy in life in grave but for this life(life in Je5us Crist) i am kind of religius i am afraid there is nothing i can do to change all this wrong management about children's play...people ought to have laws about the soul as they have about their profits...after all...life is like a dream...

That is an interesting perspective. However, companies come and companies go so I would not beat yourself up over it. Even if good companies make good decisions (which Commodore certainly did not), other good companies may make better decisions and still put them out of business.

Google and Yahoo are good examples of this. Yahoo has not made many major gaff's but they have repeatedly missed stratigic oportunities. Result, Google wins.

On a related note, it would appear that new Commodore (its is apparent, parent company Nedfield) are still out of business:

http://www.nedfield.com/Default.aspx?cms=2 - no news since June 2009

http://www.commodorecorp.com/ - has not resolved in 4 months and someone has changed their DNS settings

http://commodoregaming.com/eu/home.aspx - appears to be alive but no longer producing the custom gaming PC's
- it looks like they are just milking the existing commodore games

Hey, here is something interesting:

I was just doing some digging with the http://www.commodoreworld.com domain which resulted in the stranglest popup text file which contained only:
curl_easy_perform failed: Couldn't resolve host 'www.commodoreasia.com'
I have never seen that before. Soooo, I check the whois registration and found the following owner info:

Ho, Sam [email protected]
Suite 1601, 16F, Jie Yang Building,
271 Lockhart Road
Wanchai, HK 852
Hong Kong
31711208 Fax -- 31711206

ggtel.net is a generic GoDaddy type "Page under construction" and provides not information. I was able to determine that they do have a mail server: mail.ggtel.net but that is all.

Has someone from Hong Kong taken over Nedfield or Commodore?

That is some good investigation on your part.
