Former C128 owner, Kevin Baysinger, the owner of Baysinger Cellars, is graciously donating four bottles of his wine production for the July 26-27 Commodore Vegas Expo v4. Two bottles will be a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Malbec -- a dry, red wine. Another two bottles will be a blend of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 90% Malbec -- a dry, red wine. At the moment, all the wine is called, "Commodore Wine".
What we need is a front label and a back label for the wine bottles! If you are good at design, help us out and make up labels for us to use. The front label should make some reference to Commodore and the back label should say in small print, "Produced and Bottled by Baysinger Cellars, Lodi, California". Also if you have a catchier name than "Commodore Wine", then use it. If you've never studied wine label design, go to your local market or winery and look at the different labels used on the wine bottles.
The bottles of C= wine will be distributed as door prizes for the attendees at CommVEx. All you have to do is pay the admission to enter the event, and your name will be placed in the door prize raffle.
Think of it... a nice bottle of wine to take home or to sip during the late-night CommVEx Film Festival! Hmm, does that mean we need
a variety of crackers and fine cheeses at CommVEx?
Sincerely,
Robert Bernardo

With over 200 confirmed views at various C= web areas, we have one person who has responded to our call for label designs. I've given him some ideas and so has Kevin from Baysinger Cellars.
Now we wait,

Apparently there aren't many graphic artists left in our midst...

Saw two different preliminary designs for the front and back labels today. Wow, very professional-looking! My jaw dropped when I saw how good they looked, and the proposed name of wine was very appropriate. Kevin and I made a few more suggestions, but it looks as if there won't be any major changes. Now all I have to do is get the officers of FCUG and of the 5Cs (the judges) to approve which design is best.
Moving along nicely,
Robert Bernardo

Looks as if the Vin de Butterfield design has won. Will advise our designer.

Label design and wording just about finalized. All should be ready when I return back to the states on July 10.

Kevin Baysinger has advised me that the newly-bottled wine must sit within the bottles for at least 3 months and be drunk before being 1 year old.
The labels done by Shane Fell are quite professional-looking, stylish in looks, and do honor to Jim Butterfield.

Kevin has provided more details on the wine, Vin de Butterfield. As a good Cabernet and Malbec blend, the taste has notes of cherry, blueberry, ripe black olives, cinammon, and white pepper.
Instead of 4 bottles, he has provided 6 bottles for CommVEx.

It was hard to get the wine distributed, but all 6 bottles finally were door-prized out. Dick Estel even got 2 of them.
