I'm not sure if this will help either of you... but I have a copy of the 8250lp/SFD-1001 Technical Manual on my website at http://mysite.verizon.net/wiskow

The place to discuss all things Commodore in the 8 bit range

Not really... it's only the drive mechanism (non-commodore), not the "commodore" parts like the main board or analog board... but thanks anyway.wiskow wrote:I'm not sure if this will help either of you... but I have a copy of the 8250lp/SFD-1001 Technical Manual on my website at http://mysite.verizon.net/wiskow

That's bad news for you're SFD1001sjgray wrote:Yup, that was it... I had to sacrifice the 6530 from one of my SFD1001 drives. The 8250LP is working great now!

I also have 3 SFD's so sacrificing one is not a big deal. I would like to get the drive working again... The Atari 2600 seems to be the best source for the 6532 chip. But I'd need to find the schematics for the 6530 to 6532 adapter board.donni wrote:That's bad news for you're SFD1001sjgray wrote:Yup, that was it... Those 6530 are very difficult to come by.
I have three SFD1001 drives, one has a defective 6530 too.
Theoretical the 6530 can be replaced with a 6532 with the right adaptor.
Something I'm certainly going to try one day when I find the time for it.
They look great! Much appreciated. What was on page 2?donni wrote:The service manual finally arrived.
The original was A3 sized, so I had to make two scan's.

Is there schematics for the analog board?donni wrote:You're welcome.sjgray wrote: They look great! Much appreciated. What was on page 2?
Steve
Page 2 is the same schematic except for the rom's.
There are also a lot of pages about 8050/sfd1001/rom-versions/part-list etc.

I was fixated on the problem in the main pcb, so i didn't think of scanning that part toosjgray wrote: Is there schematics for the analog board?
