Parts sources?

I am trying to restore my dad's PET 2001-8 and I have scoured the internet looking for a parts source. No luck so far.

The cassette drive has a dry-rotted belt, which I have found numerous sources for, but the plastic has also deteriorated and has broken in a couple of places.

When the system is turned on, all I get is random characters. I read on one site that it could be a bad capacitor by the 555 timer IC. I have tried reseating all the memory and system rom ICs.

The case needs a good paint job after being stored in a non-climate controlled environment.

I'm not sure if there is anything I can do with it at this point. Just wnat to get it working for nostalgia sake and play around with it a bit.
