Greetings everyone. A little ways back I discovered a unique looking Vic-20 variant on Ebay called the SMPL. I have never seen one of these or, for that matter, ever knew that such a thing existed in the first place. I now regret not acquiring it. It didn't sell for very much and although I have no idea what it would be used for I doubt that I'll be seeing one again in the foreseeable future. At least it would've been something different to add to the collection.
Is there anyone here that has any familiarity with this oddity?
Here's the link for the auction page:

The world has moved on and left me behind. Therefore I choose to retreat into the past.
Re: Commodore VIC 20 SMPL
I think the SMPL stands for Simple Message Passing Library and the unit is a customized VIC-20 that can read and generate SMPTE time codes. They are fairly rare and at this point its only value might be that of a conversation piece.DarthKur wrote:Is there anyone here that has any familiarity with this oddity?
Call me Golan; my parents did.
