New album with Commodore64 game tunes

Post by dunkel »

Hi Commodore.ca

I play in the Danish retro band PRESS PLAY ON TAPE that primarily plays cover tunes of old Commodore 64 game tunes. I hope you find this news item interesting. Great that you keep the spirit of the C64 alive! :)

Regards,
Jesper

After 8 years of hard work and a lot of procrastination Danish Commodore 64 rock band PRESS PLAY ON TAPE is proud to present the result: 26 tunes bundled in a double CD album named HOME COMPUTER. The title is a tribute to the time when a computer in the home was something special, where the computer was used in the living room in front of the TV, and the games were slowly loaded from tapes. The album features cover versions of tunes from the following games: Formula 1 Simulator, Winter Games, Parappa The Rapper 2, Ghosts'n Goblins, Gods, Nonterraqueous, Future Knight, The Human Race, Knuckle Buster, Lightforce, One Man And His Droid, Rambo: First Blood Part II, The Last Ninja, Master Of Magic, Aztec Challenge, Thrust, Commando, Sanxion, Shockway Rider, Monty On The Run, and Zoids. Additionally it contains four tracks composed by the band themselves, including the homage to the true hero of computer games “Man With The Gun” as seen on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k41em4dr30g

The physical album comes in a three page luxury digipack with a 32 page booklet with pictures of the band taking you from the earliest years to today. It is also available as download from iTunes. For more details and a list of resellers visit http://www.PRESSPLAYONTAPE.com

Very nice.

I love the video.

How did you get permission to use all those clips, or are you invoking "fair use"?
