Up for auction is an ultra rare piece of history.
The C900 was Commodores dream of an entry into the world of Unix like workstations but this model never hit the market. 1985 it was built only in small quantities by Commodore Germany and was given to developers to design a better future. :) - Then, the Amiga project stopped the development.

Nevertheless, the C900 is a smart and powerful machine with unique characteristics. Its CPU is a fancy Zilog Z8000/1 - the only other system I can recall is the Olivetti M20. The case is similar to the Amiga 2000 but its somewhat bigger. The OS was Coherent a Unix derivate - The C900 came in two flavours: Client and Server - While the Server sports a variety of additional (serial) connectors, the Client has improved graphic abilities ton run a GUI like X-Windows - The particular machine seems to be such a Client.

The unit is in good cosmetic condition for its age. There are only minor dents in the metal and a small spot on the front plate. Otherwise its very clean and seems to be unused. (hey, its a prototype :-) ) If you look inside you will see a lot of handwired electronics and some handmade protective plates. This system must be in very early state but seems to be complete.(as far as I can say) Unfortunately this computer its not working - maybe an issue with the PSU or loose components, I dont know
