In an effort to stop the thousands of spam/flame/porn messages we were receiving every month, we have brought in a very simple additional layer of security.

Now when you click the REGISTER link (or any PROFILE link), you will be prompted for a username and password. Simply enter:
username = forum
password = user
All in lower case.

This code will change from time to time and will have no bearing on your registration. You do not need to remember it.

If this works as well as we expect, we will remove most of the other annoying security (i.e. confirmations) to simplify the process.

This seems to be working which validates the idea that the registrations were being completed by 'Bots.

I have removed the other security features, like email and visual confirmation. The registration process is now SOOOO much easier than it was before and appears to successfully filter nearly all of the spammers.

I have DISABLED this feature because the new forum has more anti-spambot features.
