*** FORUM REPLACEMENT *** Opinions Please ***

Good Day All!

If you know of forum software with good bot control, please let me know.

We have our new server ready to go and plan to migrate all content to it in the coming weeks and I want to use a different Forum tool.

I am not happy with the security of PHPBB which we have used for the last few years. The biggest problem its inability to stop bots from registering and posting. As you know, I have resorted to adding a layer of security which has completely resolved the bot problem but should not be required.

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

I think recently alot of the spamming/bots have been controlled pretty well. I'm also a member of sterlingmarlinfans.com which uses the same forum software, and they have a pretty good control of the "riff raff"!

Can you ask the other forum mgt how they handle account blocking. If I disable my own security, the PHPBB security provides no blockin. We will have hundreds of fake accounts/posts every week. It is just too much to handle manually. Do they use some 3rd party software add-on?

Well, there it is. A mere 9 hours of work, and we are upgraded!

I will complete the customization of the site within the next few days and then I will migrate the entire site to a new server!
