For CommVEx v4, the Plaza Hotel will have rooms available for the same price as this year, i.e., $60/night Friday and Saturday, and $30/night Sunday, excluding taxes.rbernardo wrote:...accomodations reserved. The Commodore Vegas Expo is set for July 26-27 in Jockey Room 1 at the Plaza Hotel...
Spoke to Dick Estel today at the club's picnic/dinner. Seems that he is not very hopeful about making it to CommVEx v4. He had such a great demonstration planned -- the use of Big Blue Reader in converting Commodore files to those readable by PCs (he's currently converting 127 (!) single-side 5 1/4" disks and the files within them to Word documents for a person in Canada). Maybe I can videotape his demonstration and present it to CommVEx.I wrote:Though our club treasurer, Dick Estel, really wants to go to CommVEx v4, he has a massive coast-to-coast RV trip planned for next summer and will only arrive back on the West Coast a few days before CommVEx. That's cutting it close! I'm hoping he has the energy for a little more travel to Las Vegas.
Just made another payment for Jockey Room 1 at the Plaza Hotel. Just one more payment to make in May or June.I wrote:Contracts signed, deposit made...
Dick now says he will be able to attend CommVEx v4 and will be staying in his camper.I wrote:[Dick Estel] is not very hopeful about making it to CommVEx v4.
Thanks to very good hardware sales at the last few SCCAN (Southern California Commodore/Amiga Network) meetings, more money was earned, and that will be devoted to paying down CommVEx.I wrote:Not only did our FCUG sales table pay for itself but the leftover money will help to fund CommVEx v4.
Final $275 payment made today. There's no turning back now!I wrote:Just made another payment for Jockey Room 1 at the Plaza Hotel. Just one more payment to make in May or June.
I started packing the room at around 2:30 p.m.. About 4 p.m. Dick Estel came in to help. Then Justin Pope from Tucson, Arizona and then Yul Haasman from the 5C's in Las Vegas. It sure felt good to have all the help and comradery. About 8:40 we called it quits for the night... and the room still isn't ready! That means we have our work cut out for us when we return to the room between 8 and 9 on Saturday morning in preparation for the 11 a.m. official opening.I wrote:I asked if we were allowed to start packing the conference room early on Friday afternoon (as has been our tradition). With the new management in place, she will have to ask her boss, but she herself sees no problem with the request.
Dick Estel took 99% of the pics this year, and I've already sent him an inquiry about when they wil be posted. As for my videos, they are still on tape and haven't been edited yet.sixstringmonk wrote:Do you have an ETA of when we can see some pics and videos from this year's expo?
I'm looking forward to it.rbernardo wrote:Dick Estel took 99% of the pics this year, and I've already sent him an inquiry about when they wil be posted.
