Next FCUG meeting - Sunday, August 19

Post by rbernardo »

Happy summer, C= and Ami aficionados!

The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Sunday, August 19, at --

Bobby Salazar's Mexican Restaurant
2839 North Blackstone Ave. (corner of Blackstone and Michigan)
Fresno, California

This month we'll recap the July 27-28 Commodore Vegas Expo. Plus we'll see some video from the show.

In hardware, for the third time in a row, we'll have the new VIC-VODER cartridge speech synthesis cartridge for the VIC-20/C64/C128, this time so that we can film some "insert" shots for a video that was filmed at CommVEx. In software, we'll look at the CD library of Commodore and Amiga software from the former Albany-Corvallis Commodore User Group. Each attendee present will get a copy of this CD!

Next SCCAN meeting - Saturday, Sept. 7

Post by rbernardo »

Greetings, C= and Ami comrades!

Our next meeting of the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network is Saturday, Sept. 7, 2 to 4+ p.m. at

Panera Bread Restaurant
19662 Nordhoff Street
Northridge, California
(818) 407-9400

That morning, before the meeting, I hope to visit Computer Station in Long Beach. After 30 years in business, the storefront, which specializes in Commodore, Amiga, Apple II, and PC-DOS software, is closing its doors soon. Perhaps I can make one, final purchase there before they are gone forever.

For the meeting, I'll be bringing the newly-refurbished Amiga 3000 with OS 3.1, 16 megs of RAM, 4 gig SCSI hard drive, and a variety of games and demos installed. As usual, the SX-64 and SuperCPU will be there, this time with Metal Dust for anyone to play.

Don't forget to bring any Amiga or Commodore items you wish to share!

Truly,
Robert Bernardo

Panera Bread Restaurant
19662 Nordhoff Street
Northridge, California
(818) 407-9400

Note the change in the day; the meeting is on a Sunday, not our usual second Saturday of the month. This is due to the SC3 Arcade Party happening on Saturday. http://www.sc3videogames.com

On that Saturday morning at 11 a.m., I will be visiting Computer Station, 2254 Pacific Ave. in Long Beach. Everybody is invited to join me at 11 a.m at the store. As mentioned in the last meeting announcement, after 30 years in business, the storefront, which specializes in Commodore, Amiga, Apple II, and PC-DOS software, will be closing its doors soon. Prices will be down 75%.

Back to the Sunday SCCAN meeting... I'll be bringing in a Commodore B128 set-up with 8050 disk drive and various programs. Also, there will be two towerized Amiga 4000s, one with OS 3.9 and the other with OS 3.1, for your perusal.

Don't forget to bring any Commodore or Amiga item you wish to share!

Hi PDXCUG.org Fans,

Happy New Year! Time to wrap up this Pong project - we'll be finishing it with the ball trajectory and offering suggestions to further modify it. We'll also show how to use C64List to break it down to more manageable code for easier editing. This will be nice because Goog will share a file to include to make it Internet-enabled.

Some late additions to the meeting... Along with the VIC-20 programs above, we'll see the VIC Emulator for the C64 in action. Also on the Amiga side, we'll play around with X-Copy, one of the best disk copiers for classic Amigas.
