After being on hiatus for 2 years, the Classic Gaming Expo is coming back in 2007, back to Las Vegas and on the same weekend as CommVEx! In the past the Fresno Commodore User Group has had a table at CGE, but I don't think we can handle 2 shows at the same time. So while you are at CommVEx, take a gander at CGE (and vice versa). Details are still scarce about CGE 2007, but any updates will be posted at http://www.cgexpo.com

The CG Expo website now lists the hotel venue -- the Riviera Hotel and Casino -- 2.9 miles from the CommVEx hotel, the Plaza Hotel and Casino. Supposedly, the two hotels are only 7 minutes from each other, but knowing Las Vegas traffic, I say it's more like 3 or 4 times that amount of time.rbernardo wrote:Details are still scarce about CGE 2007, but any updates will be posted at http://www.cgexpo.com

Well, after thinking about it some more, CGE does have a consignment area. Perhaps some of our extra club items can be deposited there in order to round up more funds to pay off CommVEx v3.rbernardo wrote:In the past the Fresno Commodore User Group has had a table at CGE, but I don't think we can handle 2 shows at the same time.

At the March club meeting today, it was decided to sell some C64s, 1541s and monitors at the consignment area at CGE. Now all that has to be done is figure out who will transport that load to Las Vegas.rbernardo wrote:Well, after thinking about it some more, CGE does have a consignment area. With 2 cars packed full of goods for CommVEx, there is no chance to sell extra hardware on consignment at CGE.rbernardo wrote:At the March club meeting today, it was decided to sell some C64s, 1541s and monitors at the consignment area at CGE.
That idea is shot down,

Just grabbed two CGEers to come to CommVEx. Mat "Mayhem" Allen, collector of game carts and holder of rare C= game carts, will visit on Sunday. Chris Romero, avid Vectrex fan, will visit CommVEx, too.
Can I squeeze my Vectrex into
the car for Chris?

Just received an e-mail today from John Hardie, co-organizer of the Classic Gaming Expo. He wants to investigate the possibility of joining CGE and CommVEx together for 2008.

Sounds like a great idea!

I saw on the IntellivisionLives website yesterday that they had a booth at CGE 2007. In addition to being a fan of the Commodore (my first computer), I'm also a fan of the Intellivision (my first game system)... Too bad I didn't know they were setting up a booth at CGE, or I'd have made a trip over there to check it out... Oh well, there's always next year.

No word back from John Hardie of CGE. Maybe our "requirements" were too high. Therefore, I am going ahead with the original plans for CommVEx v4 in 2008.rbernardo wrote:Just received an e-mail today from John Hardie, co-organizer of the Classic Gaming Expo.
