CommVEx v9 2013, yes... CommVEx v10 2014, most likely

I received a message from one of our club members the other day. He said that he received information that the Commodore Vegas Expo v9 2013 would be the last one, that there would be no Commodore Vegas Expo v10 2014! From where did he get that information?!?! He wouldn't say. I told him that he was wrong. I also hedged by saying that CommVEx 2014 is dependent on the success of CommVEx 2013. At this point in time, I see no reason why CommVEx 2013 wouldn't be a success. In other words, CommVEx 2014 is most likely to happen.

If there is other information being passed around, other than what is said here or at www.portcommodore.com/commvex, take that info with a grain of salt. All the latest, all the truest news on CommVEx is posted here and at PortCommodore. Any other information is not coming from me, and I, as the organizer of the show, know what's going on with CommVEx. Any other information is coming secondhand, thirdhand, etc., and its validity is suspect.

Merry Christmas!

The enthusiasm of this year's attendees is contagious! I've been getting e-mails about what they plan to do at the show, and it is most gratifying that they have all these C= plans. It's a boost to keep the show going into 2014.

Sincerely,

I have seen the interest in Commodore computers growing over the last year. I have been carefully tracking it, and so I will be opening up http://www.cbmstuff.com sometime in the near future. This website will feature most of the products I produced in the 80's/90's as well as my new products and an inventory of various Commodore parts - everything from SID chips to PAULA chips. I will also be offering a PROM/EPROM burning service, with 2716-271024 PROMs and EPROMs available. Other offerings will include refurbished 1541/1571 disk drives with guaranteed drive alignment, power supplies, parallel cables, and more.

So, I think the 2013 show will be quite successful and 2014 and beyond could be even better.

This afternoon, during the meeting with Kelly of the Plaza Hotel, we talked about CommVEx for 2014. She'll have a contract ready for me on Monday, and if it looks o.k., I'll sign it. Now that's efficiency.

If you were to attend next year, you would be our second Canadian to come to the show! :) Also to entice people, because we will have used up our stock of SX-64's to raffle off, we will have a metal Commodore 128DCR for raffle next year.
