In Vegas to take care of CommVEx details

I just arrived this afternoon and have already contacted three Las Vegas C= users and paid a visit to the Plaza Hotel, our venue for CommVEx. The ballroom reconstruction continues at the hotel. Almost all the third floor corridors (where the ballroom is located) have been repainted, temporary carpeting has been installed, and a new ceiling with modern LED lighting replaces the ceiling tarps from last year. The ballroom(s) is/are bright with the new lighting, but tarps still cover the floors, and hydraulic lifts are around the place. The old ballroom air walls are gone, probably to be replaced with new ones.

Unlike last year, actor Todd Bridges no longer hosts the hotel game show (aw, no more autographs from him at this year's CommVEx).

Tomorrow I meet with the Plaza Hotel sales manager to ask questions, and I will meet with Las Vegas C= users.

Another productive day in Las Vegas! I met with a C= user for lunch at the Sourdough Cafe in Arizona Charlie's Hotel & Casino (Decatur St.), then it was a quick visit to the Plaza Hotel and a talk with the sales manager, then it was a visit to Al Jackson's place, then I made a trip to the nearby Grand Line Games (which had a C64 system on exhibit and had some C64 commercial software for sale), and then I drove back to the hotel for a call to another C= user (heh, that's what I get for forgetting my cellphone in California).

Tonight I plan to get together with another CommVEx exhibitor.

Keeping busy,
