Hi all,
I recently bought an 8250 drive that does not boot. I bought an oscilloscope and did some poking around. Luckily I have a working 8050 to compare to and found that the second DOS rom is bad. I either need to find an ancient rom, or figure out how to burn a new one. I understand that the roms are not pin compatible with industry standard eproms, which kinda sucks. lol.
Any ideas?
Jeff

Hmm, I suggest that you contact BitFixer at bitfixer(at)bitfixer.com He might give you those ideas to cure your 8050.

Thanks for the link.
I checked it out. The pet disk is a very cool looking gadget.
I will send an email when I get a chance. I also found out its possible with some soldering and a couple of sockets to make a modern eprom work in an old commodore.
