Commodore.ca: The PET, VIC, 128, 64 & More Forum

I have spoken to Trevor Dickinson of A-EON, and he has expressed an interest in attending the Pacific Commodore Expo NW. As the months progress toward the show, I will ask him to firm up his commitment.

A-EON is the company which manufactures such computers as the AmigaOne X1000 and the new AmigaOne X5000.

While in the Pacific Northwest, on Thursday I spoke to Ray Carlsen. Though he does not want to personally appear at PaCommEx (how humble he is!), he has agreed to do a presentation on video. Well, it is more like a open discussion where I go to his house, and we discuss his various projects and other thoughts on Commodore and repair. And it's an audio discussion where I take still photographs and insert them into the video a la the "Ken Burns" technique.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Presentations can be held in the spacious "lab/classroom" off to the side of the exhibit hall.

At today's Seattle Retro-Computing Society meeting today, I met with Kent Sullivan of Dr. Evil Laboratories. He has agreed to speak about the classic Swiftlink-232 cartridge - how it came to be created, its design, and the rest of his history. Oh, yeah... if you have questions about the classic SID Symphony stereo cartridge, he'll probably be glad to answer those, too.

We'll have presentations in the Living Computers: Museum + Labs classroom located in the back of the first floor.

Dr. Evil Lab partner, Bryan Minugh, will join Kent in the presentation. The presentation will probably take place on Saturday, June 10.

To be more exact, it will be Lab (Classroom) B in the southwest corner of the first floor. The maximum capacity of the room is 48 people. A podium, wireless microphone(s), and a screen and projector will be available.

Honored to be speaking at the event about the SL-232. Had fun speaking about the SID Symphony at the Vegas event a few years ago.

BTW, I wrote several detailed blog posts a few years describing the history of DEL and its products. The easiest way to access the posts is via Facebook:

The posts are hosted on the DEL blog on commodoreserver.com. Unfortunately, the blog software does not show all of the posts, so it's more difficult to read them in order. That's where using FB as a frontend helps.

Robert, I hope you are able to interview Ray Carlsen and present the video during the event. He is such a wealth of knowledge!

The interview has been done. The work is putting it together so it's interesting to the audience.

I sure hope you post the video with Ray. He's been such a great help to me to get my Commodore hardware fixed and running ... not to mention selling me the most Industrial quality power supply the Commie world has probably ever seen ,,, I always have had the greatest respect for this guy, even though I've never met him.
