Near the Living Computer Museum

Post by rbernardo »

The Living Computer Museum, our venue for PaCommEx, is located at 2245 1st Avenue South, south of Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. For PaCommEx attendees who need a break from the event, there are other nearby establishments. About 1/2 block to the north, there is Outdoor Research, a sports store which sells recreational clothing and power snacks and drinks. Across the street is a large Starbucks. A little bit farther north is Macrina Bakery & Cafe, which also has that coffee shop vibe like Starbucks. About two to three blocks to the north is Jimmy John's sandwich restaurant.

Still in Las Vegas,

About 2 blocks to the south of the LCM + L is the giant headquarters of Starbucks with a Starbucks Coffee Shop on the first floor (naturally). Across the road on 1st Street is a Vietnamese restaurant which is only open until 3 p.m. on Saturday and is closed on Sunday; this restaurant also serves vegetarian dishes. Two blocks to the north of the LCM + L is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, open all days of the week. Farther away but still in the area is a 24-hour Denny's Restaurant.

Other than the eating establishments listed above and Hooverville ( see viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12575#p17663 ), there are other restaurants if you drive a few streets over on 4th Avenue S. -- Burger King, Subway, Arby's, McDonald's, Jack in the Box, and KFC.

For pizza, it seems that there are a few places within about 3 miles which offer delivery -- two places called A Pizza Mart and one establishment called MAD Pizza. At 1321 Madison St., MAD Pizza is the nearest to the LCM + L, and it has quite a menu selection. Go to

Not including that little, pizza-by-the-slice place near Hooverville,

And, perhaps for one meal, if people are feeling a little adventurous, both gastronomically and geographically, Seattle's International District is not too far away and the traffic isn't bad getting there. Lots of great choices SE Asian (especially) choices there.

If the restaurants had delivery, that would be great!
