a strange idea / request from an old C64 fan

Why not rig up a PC with DirectX and extend C64 emulation to take advantage of PC resources such as network, more colors & memory and such? That way an person can use the api to develop new things that take advantage of the PC resources while using a C64 interface and code. (like making a monster out of a 6510 proc and VIC chips)

This sounds great to me but it is beyond my coding abilities.

Maybe because that wouldn't be a C64 anymore...If you could access to PC resources from a "C64 point of view", you were actually creating a programming language...
