Next FCUG meeting - Sunday, February 20

Post by rbernardo »

Happy Valentines Day, FCUG members and guests!

The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Sunday, February 20, at

Panera Bread Restaurant
1260 Shaw Avenue
Clovis, CA 93612
(559) 325-0290

Note the new meeting place for this month; our usual meeting place at the Pizza Pit will be filled with Daytona 500 fans! :) Because this is a Panera Bread, there is free Wi-Fi.

Last month we looked through various Commodore forums on the Net; this month we'll go over some Amiga forums. Also delayed from last month, we'll go through some of disks from the disk library of the Fort Ord Commodore UserS (FOCUS) of Seaside, California. New on agenda will be Payton Byrd's video demonstrating CBM-Command v2.0 and the humorously wild Commodore Italy commercial. Further discussion topics will cover the March 5 SC3 Arcade Party in Alhambra, California, and the April 15-17 Notacon 8/PixelJam Demoparty in Cleveland, Ohio.

See you at the meeting!

Truly,
Robert Bernardo

On the agenda is programming with a look at DotBASIC Plus on disk (courtesy of Alan Reed) and Comal 2.0 on cartridge. Then we'll peek into 2 gigs of Commodore .D64 goodness on a SD card (courtesy of Charles Gutman). Bring a 2+ gig SD card if you want a copy of that.

We have two special guests coming to Sunday's meeting -- the father and son duo of Jeff and Robert Eade. They hail from West Sussex, England and are here in the states for 2 weeks. Though they know little of Commodore computers, they have a great interest in classic American cars. What better way to learn about American cars than to come to the Pizza Pit and then go the next weekend to the Goodguys All American Get-Together car show!

Maybe I can dig up an auto racing game for them to try out on the Commodore. :)

Next SCCAN meeting - Saturday, April 2

Post by rbernardo »

Happy Springtime, C= and Ami lovers!

We have another SCCAN meeting on Saturday, April 2, from 2 p.m. to 4+ p.m.. Note that the meeting is on Saturday and not the usual Sunday. To find out the location of the meeting, send me a message.

I'll bring video of the March 5 SC3 Arcade Party in which 8-Bit Weapon played their music live in front of the crowd. My A1200 desktop is being upgraded, and Tracker Hero is being installed in it; I don't think it will be ready by the time of the meeting. However, don't forget to bring your Commodore and Amiga goodies to show off/demonstrate.

See you at the meeting!

Greetings, C= and Ami aficionados!

The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Sunday, May 15, at --

The Pizza Pit Restaurant
2705 N. Blackstone Ave. (corner of Blackstone and Princeton)
Fresno, California

This month is the catch-up meeting; we catch up with all the presentations that we ran out of time to demo in past meetings. But that doesn't mean we won't have new C= stuff to look at! From the former Albany Microcomputers comes not one but two newly-acquired PET 2001 computers plus other knick-knacks. Also we'll take a first-look at the C64 EasyFlash cartridge built by Mike Betz of Antelope, California.

Plus an update on the
July 23-24 Commodore Vegas Expo,

Next SCCAN meeting - Sunday, June 5

Post by rbernardo »

Hello, all Commodore and Amiga fans,

The Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network (SCCAN) has its next meeting on Sunday, June 5, from 2 p.m. to 4+ p.m.. To find out the exact location of the meeting, just send me an e-mail.

Thanks to all who made the April SCCAN meeting a success. At the last moment, we had to move our meeting to the Panera Bread Restaurant in Northridge, California. At the four-hour meeting, SCCAN members Matt B. and Dan L. brought in the Minimig with the latest update and the MCC-216 VGA with C64 and Atari cores from ArcadeRetroGaming.com . I brought the Comal 2.0 cartridge for the C64.

For the June meeting I'm bringing my Amiga 1200 '040 or the Amiga 1200 '060 or both. On the Commodore side, I'll bring the Turbomaster CPU 4 MHz. cartridge. Also I'll bring the EasyFlash C64 cartridge bought from Mike Betz of Antelope, California. Don't forget to bring your Commodore and Amiga goodies to show off/demonstrate.
