I'm doing just fine. I'm now over half-way done with my time here. Every day that goes by is one day closer to the day I'll be home. Keeping that in mind is what helps me maintain a positive outlook. :)

Re: Wiskow is off to Afghanistan

I've been in Afghanistan for about a month and a half now, and things are going well here. Anyone who would like to keep up on what's going on here, and see photos and videos that I post, is more than welcome to add me as a friend on Facebook. Here's a link to my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.c...

Re: Cottonwood & Borderline BBSs & website - temporary closure

Just a quick update... I've managed to find an alternate location to host my web pages, so those will all remain up and running while I'm away. I've already moved them, and everything seems to be running smoothly. I added a notice to the top of the main page about the BBSs being down while I'm gone.

Cottonwood & Borderline BBSs & website - temporary closure

As many of you already know, I'm in the U.S. navy, and I'm currently stationed in California where I work with TV broadcasting for the military. I've just been informed that I'll be getting sent to Afghanistan on a temporary assignment to work at the receiving end of the TV signals that we send out ...

Re: Cottonwood BBS & Website

While I was in Washington state on vacation, there was a power outage at my house, which caused the Cottonwood/Borderline website , the ACUG website , my personal website , as well as both Cottonwood and Borderline BBSs to go offline for a few days. Everything has been back up and running since late...

Re: Borderline BBS - DIAL-UP!!!

I'm happy to announce that Borderline BBS is now running on a CMD hard drive instead of the 1581 and seven 1571s that it's been running on for some time now. This means that the file transfer section is vastly bigger now, with plenty of room for additional files to be added. It also means that I'll ...

Re: Borderline BBS - DIAL-UP!!!

This may be a stupid question: Do older modem's such as 300/1200/2400 baud work over a VOIP line? I know that "modern" high-speed modems do not because of the limited frequency range. It's not a stupid question at all... Unfortunately, newer modems work better on VoIP lines than older mod...

Borderline BBS now has over 50 registered users... Not too shabby for a dial-up BBS in this day and age... ;)

Re: C128 Power supply on C64 question

The aftermarket Phoenix power supplies were even better. I haven't had the opportunity to use one of those... Got any spares? ;) The only aftermarket C64 power supply I ever used was a Recoton brand power supply. It was better than the standard C64 "brick", but the C128 power supply provi...
