Joysticks and Game Controllers

Sega Genesis game pads will work with Commodore computers. I believe I initially read this on the web, but couldn't get mine to work. Took the controller apart, and it had corroded etching on its circut board. A little bit of pencil eraser, and the Sega controller is working pretty good. I have a bu...

Thanks for the tip!! I made a temporary shield from aluminum foil and tried to load a disk, and it worked! Removed the shield, and tried another load... it banged the disk head and flashed the red light. Do you think a light guage sheetmetal would work as a more permanent fix?

As far as faded or yellowing, that doesn't bother me. As long as it works. My SX-64 has a few scratches, it's been modified, and it works. Here's a picture of the "inside" of my SX-64. The 1541 board is to be mounted above the monitor (I'm having what I believe are RF interference problems...

GEOS for the C-64

Has anyone tried to download GEOS for the C-64? I tried to get it from cmdrkey.com, but I'm having trouble making it work on the C-64/SX-64.

1581 drive

On Ebay there is a 1581 disk drive that the seller claims is "Like new in box". I bid on this item, on the low side, and the bidding is now up to $91.00. Does anyone know how many 1581 drives are out there? I have a 1571 drive now to go along with a 1541. I hope to get a 1581 sometime, but...

Actually, the picture is pretty good. I have it connected to a 19" tv, because even the original monitor (when it was working decent) was hard to read what you type.

I would have liked to put an LCD TV in there. Coby makes one thats 5", but I couldn't find one locally to check it out. This setup I have now works pretty good.

I replaced the monitor with a Coby 5.5" TV. The TV has a remote, and I can switch between the antenna (which I mounted a connector on the back of the SX-64) and the AV inputs. The original monitor didn't work very well. This fits in, but I had to remove the FDD controller, which is bad. I hope ...

SX-64 pictures

Here are a couple pictures of my SX-64. You might notice the green led on in the storage compartment, that is for the tv/remote switch. The remote is on top of the SX-64. You can also see the bulky cable I got from Radio Shack for the keyboard. http://public.fotki.com/moparram/sx64/sx641.html http:/...

Got the Cardco interface working with Okidata ML320. I had to open up the box and flip some dip switches, luckily someone has a site that had info on the dip switch. I don't have a manual for the interface. Disk drive is still dead, I'm working on getting a 1571 for it. I have a 1541, but I use it t...

The video out to a tv is perfect. I replaced the monitor in the SX-64 with a Coby 5.5" TV. This TV has a remote, and I set up the infrared sensor in the back of the storage above the floppy. I put a female coax antenna connector in the back of the SX-64 so I can hook up an antenna or cable to w...

I saw that one on Ebay also. Granted that seems like a very rare Commodore, but that price is pretty steep to me. Unfortunate that it had to be taken out of the box  .

Try Zimmers.net. They have alot of diagnostic articles for almost every Commodore product. Sounds like a 6502 may be bad.

Great news! I didn't know people were still making stuff for Commodores. My SX-64 is coming along pretty good. When I'm not using the SX-64, I can watch tv on it!! I have to mount a 1541 short board in the case and add a fan to the underside of the cover to cool it down, the CRT gets pretty hot. I'l...
