Re: Two sick 64's

KW, You may not be back at square 1: If you compiled the assembly, you should just be able to go in and change where the register is counting memory, and which address that is being pointed to, you should be able to modify the program to look at more then the 256 byte segments.... You should find th...

Re: The Proprietary Software Paradigm of the 80's / thoughts

Furthermore, Given that Commodore had roughly 25,000,000 users, the brand name is still completely viable... The brand name is still capable of splitting a Market.. Given Laptops,Pads, Computers, and Internet appliances of all types (phones, music players, etc) The Price to purchase the rights to Com...

The Proprietary Software Paradigm of the 80's / thoughts..

random musings on the actual viability of Commodore USA..... Thoughts: Apple keeps its business going through teams of lawyers actually enforcing copyrights, etc, without its Lawyers Apple Computer would die, because it is much too expensive .. Software was truly proprietary in the 1980's by acciden...

Re: Strange problem with C64.

you usually have to scavange 2 or 3 broken commodores to get one commodore up and running, keep shopping, buy more commodores, this will give you a stockpile of chips and other stuff.. You can usually keep one running doing this..

Re: Looking for a Commodore 64.

I worked for this old Computer company that did nothing but refurbish and sell old equipment. Commodore,Atari/Amiga,Apple,etc. They had old software,joysticks.. It was a cool company, mainly just an indoor junkshop.. People like FRY's Electronics could keep a little junk shop going pretty easyily.. ...

Re: The C64 Joystick Will Not Be Replaced

The Best Joystick for any Commodore or Atari 8-bit system was the TACH2 The TACH2 Joystick was the Penultimate Arcade gamming device. Sturdy, indestructable, used MicroSwitch's If I remember correctly.. Never wore out, you could go through 5 regular Black and Red Buttoned Joysticks to 1 TACH2, or mo...

Re: Problem with Commodore 128, not sure what to do.

I would look for a shorted PIN on the pinout to either the Joystick ports, or the joystick itself. Take a DMM and go from HOT lead on the Pins to ground (metal chasis inside Commodor...

Re: Would You Buy a Commodore Branded PC

I Like what they are trying to do .. The internet is the problem.. Its too open.. which is a stupid thing to say, but that is what is going to .. Commodore Networks.. Say a Commodore Browser only see's sites with some key on them. The idea here is to limit the world to where a Commodore Computer onl...
