Check out this page: http://www.davidviner.com/cbm6.html?name=500+Hi-Res+Graphics Most likely the sprites you see are coming from ROM. As I understand it, the VIC-II can only see 16K blocks, so if you leave the text screen at the default bank 15 address then there is no ram in range for sprites ...

Re: CBM 8296 with Supersoft Graphics Card
Oh, and you should cover up the EPROM window so the contents aren't lost. Do you have any way to dump those EPROMs? Disassembling the code could reveal something.

Re: CBM 8296 with Supersoft Graphics Card
The place to ask is the CBM Hackers mailing list, or the PET Alive forum... http://www.softwolves.pp.se/misc/arkiv/cbm-hackers/folders.html http://www.commodore128.org/ It looks like an interesting board. I have the Commodore High Speed Grafix board myself. If you have no luck finding info I'd be ...

If you know the line number of the line where the error is, lets say it's 500, then type LIST 500 to view the line. Use the cursor keys to move up to the line and over to the mistake and just fix it. When done, press the RETURN key and the line will be corrected. If you don't know the line number ...

Yup, that was it... I had to sacrifice the 6530 from one of my SFD1001 drives. The 8250LP is working great now! Steve That's bad news for you're SFD1001 :( Those 6530 are very difficult to come by. I have three SFD1001 drives, one has a defective 6530 too. Theoretical the 6530 can be replaced with ...

My 8250LP finally arrived from Germany. It's in good shape cosmetically, however when turned on the LED blinks 5 times. I think this means either the 6502 or 6530 is bad. Time to start swapping chips... Steve It's probably the 6530. I'm still waiting for the service manual to arrive :| ....... Yup ...

Yes, shipping was about 60 eur. The seller only accepted bank wire transfers and it cost me another 30 eur in fees... ouch! I'm not buying anything else on ebay unless it's via paypal. Can you give me the location of the site selling service manuals? Might come in handy! Or, would you be willing to ...

Wow, that's a lot of work. I guess it's worth it as the 8296D is a really great machine. Glad the EPROM worked for you. Is your machine a 220V model? Steve Yes it was a lot of work, but worth it. The machine runs on 220 Volts and has a QWERTZ keyboard with keys like ä/ö/ü, so it must be German. W ...
