Re: 11 Forgotten Media Formats of Yesteryear
Fascinating article.
In the 6th grade I just felt fortunate that I didn't have a Data Cassette, but actually ended up with 1541 Disk Drive! Which the 1541 had to be the slowest Drive known to mankind in that particular epoch!

BlueSky Software appears to be a really late to the 8-bit era Company. So think 18 or 19 year old that was trying to make it big when the 8-bit era was ending. Pretty Cool! Perhaps Sad!! Hayden Software appears to have made Crystal Cavern's, Crime Stopper, Alibi, and others!! No Info on the Company ...

Re: Switching between C= 128 screens
Thanks Rbernardo, I cannot recall which system that I was doing that with? Oh wait a second, didn't or wasn't there a Commodore 64 Program that simulated 80 Column on a Commodore 40 Column Monitor a hi-res? It was kinda like a Terminate and Stay Resident in DOS, you could load it and run it and it ...

I remember staying up all hours of ...

Re: Switching between C= 128 screens
I thought you merely typed Ready? Column 80 <CR> Ready? Column 40 <CR> Esc is CHR$147 or something, X is CHR$<nnn> so you should be able to write a basic program to execute the CHR$,CHR$ Sequence. then just run the program . So you could in essence make your own little commands that you can run ...

It may be the driver circuitry on the controller card. Not able to source enough current..do you have a digital multimeter? Power it up and start checking voltages.

Commodore Computer Store around my Old Haunt
This is from 1982-1998.... This is the Computer Store around my old stomping grounds in Oklahoma. I actually ended up working for this Computer Shop in the 1990's, quite unplanned. The staples of the day were Commodore and Amiga Repairs (Chip Swapping Mostly) and 386/486 AMD, Intel or Cyrix (Quite ...

Hmmmmm, Have you tried the commodore schematic? 6526 CIA... Hmmm, how to get that puppy moving??? The 2Mhz version of the 6526 would accept max bit rates of 500Kb/Sec.... Hmmm, Test it against a C128.... The 6526 is also used for Parallel coms.... 2400bps....... As configured in the Commodore 64 and ...

As an aside, Usually you expose an EPROM to light to erase the ROM... Usually any UV content in the light will erase it... SO the fact that you are getting your PET to boot by doing this does indeed sound a little odd. There must be something else going on.... Try measuring the temperature of the ...

Re: 3D printer at CommVex V10 2014?
I don't know how well the 3D Printer will fair. Its so close to being a straight up Numerical Control Machine, that you would be just as well machining dies for injection molding plastic then turning out your designs that way. I guess the flip side of the coin is the price , N.C. can be very pricey ...

Re: Commodore 1520 printer/plotter
Someone may have developed an Commodore Printer Port to USB or Parallel Printer Conversion Module... I am not really in the know.. This would allow you to use modern printers and so it saves you from having to look for inks for various 1980's commodore printers.... I had a rackety noisy old Oki-Data ...
