What do you mean? You can do anything you want with a 64 and there are already a variety of different hard disk for the 64.

BTW - this is the C64 DTV forum. Not quite the same thing as a 64.

Ha! I just read your other post and joked that you had switched to Atari and now I see that you have. Don't feel bad. It's all about what makes you happy.

FWIW, I've got an Atari ST and an Atari 800XL. :)

I'd probably get shot in this forum for saying...
Switching to Atari? :)

You should probably give an email address where interested parties can contact you because this forum doesn't support private messaging.

I would suggest getting what you need from the Cincinnati Commodore Computer Club. Their prices are reasonable they're near to you.

Perhaps it is old new old stock (or NOS as they call it on eBay) that were found in warehouse somewhere? Regardless, if they're being sold in North America they will be NTSC which means they're first generation not the units people generally want to hack. You can still find reasonably priced Hummer ...

Re: Help with joining Petscii forums

I registered at the PETSCII forums, but my status is still pending approval of the administrator. Whoops! It seems that my followup to your other post was premature. The problem is that Jeff, the admin of PETSCII forums, is the only guy that can approve accounts (we moderators can't do that) and he...

Re: C-64 DTV modifications

I'm not sure what to suggest other than checking out the DTVHacking forum . You should post about this problem there on the off chance that someone there has experienced a similar problem. I would also poke through the older messages. It has been a few years since the peak of DTV hacking and the old...

Re: Help with RS-232 interface for SX-64

Anyone know how to make an RS-232 interface for the SX-64? A very smart cookie by the name of Jim Brain has designed a couple of RS-232 interfaces, both of which will work on the SX-64 and the designs are freely available so you can make your own. One connects to the user port and is called the EZ2...

CCCC, as the name implies, is in Cincinnati and that isn't too far from Ashland (only a little bit further than Frankfort from what I gather.) I would check with them because I'm sure they would be willing to mail one to you and I can't imagine that would cost more than a few bucks. I doubt you'll g...

I would recommend getting one from your nearest user group. The Cincinnati Commodore Computer Club will sell you one for $2 (see here ) and I'm sure that Robert Bernardo, President of the Fresno Commodore User Group and active Commodore.ca member could help you out. He has been very gracious in help...

For what it's worth, there's an easy way to double the performance of a tape drive and that's to write once. By default, everything is saved twice to ensure the integrity of the data. If you write once, you double the speed. :) There was a program called Supertape by a hacker named Elgar that speeds...
