I would suggest getting what you need from the Cincinnati Commodore Computer Club. Their prices are reasonable they're near to you.

Perhaps it is old new old stock (or NOS as they call it on eBay) that were found in warehouse somewhere? Regardless, if they're being sold in North America they will be NTSC which means they're first generation not the units people generally want to hack. You can still find reasonably priced Hummer ...

Re: Help with joining Petscii forums
I registered at the PETSCII forums, but my status is still pending approval of the administrator. Whoops! It seems that my followup to your other post was premature. The problem is that Jeff, the admin of PETSCII forums, is the only guy that can approve accounts (we moderators can't do that) and he ...

Re: C-64 DTV modifications
I'm not sure what to suggest other than checking out the DTVHacking forum . You should post about this problem there on the off chance that someone there has experienced a similar problem. Anyone know how to make an RS-232 interface for the SX-64? A very smart cookie by the name of Jim Brain has designed a couple of RS-232 interfaces, both of which will work on the SX-64 and the designs are freely available so you can make your own. One connects to the user port and is called the ...

CCCC, as the name implies, is in Cincinnati and that isn't too far from Ashland (only a little bit further than Frankfort from what I gather.) I would check with them because I'm sure they would be willing to mail one to you and I can't imagine that would cost more than a few bucks. I doubt you'll ...

For what it's worth, there's an easy way to double the performance of a tape drive and that's to write once. By default, everything is saved twice to ensure the integrity of the data. If you write once, you double the speed. :) There was a program called Supertape by a hacker named Elgar that speeds ...
