Re: New Books! Commodore The Early Years & Commodore Amiga Years

Just wanted to post an update on the progress of the book. Since the Kickstarter ended, the number of interviews has grown to over double the original dozen that was planned. This has resulted in a lot more information to go through, over 500 pages of transcribed interviews to be exact, which has al...

Commodore: a Company on the Edge eBook now available again!

After an agonizing showdown between Amazon and the distributor of Commodore: a Company on the Edge, they have reached an agreement and made their books available on Kindle once again. This all started back in February: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/22/amazon-pulls-thousands-of-e-books-in-dis...

Re: "Commodore: a Company on the Edge" eBook change imminent

Unfortunately there is a dispute between my distributor and Amazon over Kindle pricing that has been ongoing since February 2012: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/22/amazon-pulls-thousands-of-e-books-in-dispute/ Amazon ended up pulling down all the Kindle books from my distributor, but hopefull...

Re: Commodores Jack Tramiel Dead at 83

This is a shock to me. I met him one time and only exchanged a few words, along with his getting his autograph. It's always been a dream to interview him someday, and shed light on his early years. It looked like this could actually happen when Martin Goldberg, who is working on a history of Atari, ...

"Commodore: a Company on the Edge" eBook change imminent

Just a heads up that the eBook price for "Commodore: a Company on the Edge" will be changing in about two weeks. Currently it is listed on Kindle for $9.99, but a distributor will be taking over duties for distributing the book across all eBook formats in the future (including the Apple bo...

Re: UPDATED: Commodore Book: A Company on the Edge 2nd Editi

Thanks to everyone for their interest in the book! I wanted to post an update and answer some questions here. The book is now available in wide release. There was some craziness for a while on Amazon regarding the pricing of the book and availability but it seems to be ironed out now. You can also g...

Did you install Textual Confirmation? I wasn't joking when I said that would solve your problems.

I think it's all automated bots, so they post links on everything without considering the topic of a particular forum.

One of the most important things for them is to create new users with a web link in their profile in the hopes that it pushes their ranking up on Google.

The absolute hands down best solution for this problem is something called Textual Confirmation: http://bbantispam.com/tc/ I had this same problem on a forum I administer and this eliminated it completely. When users are signing up, instead of using the visual letter recognition scheme (which has be...
