Hmm. I'm confused. Sorry, but you're really not being clear enough regarding the symptoms. Some of my questions were intended to see if the computer was actually working, and it's still not clear. 40 straight vertical lines on a working computer suggest either a bad character generator - or even a ...

Dunno off hand, but might want to see if it was used elsewhere though - you might be shocked. For example, the 2114 although it hasn't probably been produced since I was a lad is still suprisingly common - found, and usually socketed no less - in old PC cards. Value Village is as valid a hunting ...

Yes, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. There is no comparison as far as functionality is concerned between the generic box that I type this reply on and anything that C= once produced. But lets face it... In the last year I'll bet I've walked by scores of tower cases in the trash with nary a ...

Some holders spring load the fuse against a bayonnet cap and can be tricky to "jam", others with slot screw caps are easier - been known to wrap a few turns of dryer tape around the outer end of the fuse to interference fit it, but neither are solutions. Best to find another holder in the long run ...

It's always best to work with the circuit at hand - without silk screened markings follow the traces to determine relative polarity. With that said, If YOUR C-25 is right beside the heat sink, and in series with diode CR-12, then the positive side is toward the diode - the rear of the board. This ...

Hi Mark. three hurdles to overcome and I can do two. The ROM sockets meant to take the 2332 will accept a 2732 eprom with a bit of massaging. Pin 18 and 21 need to swap places between the EPROM and the board, and what to do with pin 20 seems to differ with different boards (On one particular 2001 ...

Bad sockets on 2001 board
Interesting weekend. been pulling my hair out trying to bring a pair of 2001 boards back to life. One suspected bad main ram, the other the 74244 bus buffers on the CPU address bus or the 74154 rom select mux. 6 hours later the culprit on the latter was pin 18 on one of the rom sockets. it looks ...

More info required. Presumably you got the computer non working? As "C25" (C likely denotes capacitor) isn't likely to fall off by itself. It's not uncommon to find silk screened designations with no component in place. Unless there's signs of something being obviously cut out. Can you narrow down ...

Aye. .bin files of the various ROMs can be found in several places in the links section too along with explainations of the various versions. If you have an EPROM programmer available then you need only to figure out what "modern" 27Cxx eprom equivelent will be required to replace the ROM. There a ...

Still in need? Where you at? Unsure of part numbers (I had always thought they were the same but used different taps depending on the screen size) but I have one from a 9000 and one from a 2001.
