Up & Running is proud to
provide a free bookkeeping package for small business.
The program was developed
primarily as an invoice generator but then moved all to handle most basic
bookkeeping functions. We were unable to locate a simple accounting
package that had enough functionality and ease of use...
so we wrote one.
UR Bookkeeping Install
Procedure
You should be up an running
in 5 minutes:

Download the program
from
HERE.

Install the program
accepting all the defaults.

Start the program from your
START MENU
-
Enter all of your settings
in the USER PREFERENCES section
-
Add a few CUSTOMERS.

Create a your first invoice

Features

Network Capable: The
program is designed for companies that need to generate < 100 invoices per
month. While it has not been tested as yet, it can be used in a
multi-user environment on a network. Simply perform the install,
then move the DATA directory your preferred network share and adjust the
DATA DIRECTORY path in the USER PREFERENCES.

Invoice Scanning: We
were tired of trying to locate invoices for warranty claims so we added
two fields in which you can insert .JPG's of your invoices.

Unlimited Line Items:
Although we have not tested it beyond about 20 lines, you
theoretically could have hundreds of lines per invoice

Expense Tracking:
The expense tracker provides you with the ability to categorize your
expenses which puts you in good stead to generate reports

Report Generator:
The 10 or so key reports that everyone needs are ready to go right out of
the box (i.e. Expense by Category and Date, Revenue by Client...)

Ease of Use: This
program should not be confused with Simply Accounting or Quicken.
They are both excellent products but they just took us way to long to
setup and understand... we just wanted basic bookkeeping

The Price: It is
pretty tough to beat free. On the downside, we provide no support or
warranty of any sort. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. That being said we
have used it for a few years without any failures.

Spyware Free: No we
did not include ANY Spyware. The program was written in Microsoft
Visual FoxPro 6.0 with Service Pack 5 and nothing else has been added.

Invoice Graphic: We can add an invoice graphic
for you (currently at no charge) if you desire. There was a small
programming issue that stopped us from letting users define the graphic
after we compiled the program. So, if you want a graphic, send an
email to
administrator@commodore.ca and if we have time we will add your
graphic at no cost.

It Is Small & Fast: Because we don't have any
bloat the program will run on almost any windows PC. For us, it has
run successfully on Windows ME, 2000, XP, XP with SP2, and 2003 Server.

can post questions about the product in our free

Bookkeeping forum and perhaps another UR Bookkeeping user can provide
you with help.
