New C64 Micro ATX Replacement Motherboard

Post by DCM2342 »

I've been working on a project to create a Micro ATX form factor motherboard for the C64 that will use an ATX case and power supply. This started out as a personal project to build a new board that uses modern ATX power supplies, and is fully socketed for easy debug and repair. It uses new and NOS parts and chips for most of the board, with the MOS chips coming from a donor 64.

My prototype is up and running and I presented it at CommVex 2014 in Las Vegas this past weekend. I'm currently working to get the board ready for a larger production run and add in some requested features to make the board even better.

If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, feel free to drop me a line here, on Lemon, or on my blog page below.

My blog page for tracking information and updates as I get the board ready is at:

My goal is to be able to build and sell the board for under US $200.

Very nice. It's good to have your CommVEx slideshow there, too. Perhaps I will screen-shot those slides and insert them into the video I have of your presentation (instead of the video shots I have of the same slides filmed off the wall at CommVEx).

Still in Las Vegas until Sunday,
