PAL Assembler for Commodore PET is available

Post by GrimReaper »

Hello all,

One Christmas (back in 1983) my brother and I received our first Commodore 64 computer, and every Christmas since then I get that old "nostalgic" 8-bit feeling :-)

Having started on the Commodore PET back in 1982, I thought that this might be of interest to some of you.

After nearly a decade of Commodore computers and 6502 programming, I acquired a Commodore SuperPET in 1990 and wanted to do some vintage "green screen" coding. However, I couldn't find a decent assembler for the PET back in those days. So, I hand-converted the Commodore 64 version of the PAL Assembler (by Brad Templeton) to the PET and got it working. After many years of languishing in my 5.25" floppy disk collection, I've found this program and thought I'd make it available to anyone out there!

So here it is... PAL Assembler for the Commodore PET (in .D64 format):

Enjoy!
