Help with joining Petscii forums

I registered at the PETSCII forums, but my status is still pending approval of the administrator. I can't seem to find out who I can email to in order to get my account activated.

C-64 DTV modifications

I'm working on my NTSC DTV and added a ps/2 port and a joystick port. For some reason, the joystick won't move the on-screen character to the right. All other functions work. Some keys I press on the keyboard won't work either. I also added a power supply to the unit, a 6V wall transformer. Any thou...

Help with RS-232 interface for SX-64

Anyone know how to make an RS-232 interface for the SX-64? I have this crazy idea of connecting my Snap On MT2500 scanner to my SX-64. I've already hooked it up to my old 486 laptop, a Apple Mac Classic II, and my trusty Okidata ML320 turbo printer(which I had to install a serial interface into). Th...

Commodore Pet

Just saw a Commodore Pet in a TV show on called The Company. It was period set in 1975... I don't recall a PET 4000 or 8000 series in that year...

Are the disks you're using formatted? I know I had a problem formatting disks using the pc and x1541 cable. I use my SX-64 to format disks. Go to your options pull-down. Look at your transfer settings in the Star Commander. I'm using on older Pentium 233MMX with the X1541 cable and 1571 drive. My tr...

The Star commander works like the old Norton Commander for PC-Dos. With the X1541 cable, you may have to "reread" a couple times, it's petty basic, and is error prone. Download the Manual. Make sure your 1541 IS device #8!! You'll have to select "make disk image" from the pull do...

I would think if it is a BASIC program, it should run. Don't the Pet Floppies and C-64 Floppies use the same format?

There's a ton of C-64 stuff on EBay. I got an SX-64 there, it had a few problems, but I like to tinker, and I have addressed the issues I have had with the unit. I've purchased 1541/1571 drives, cartridges, and joysticks with no problems.

I personally use an older computer, a Pentium 233MMX with an X1541 cable hooked up to a 1571. Unfortunately this powerhouse computer is not hooked up to the internet, and I have to download from another computer on the 'Net and save to disk. I can then use the disk on the older computer to make 5.25...

1571 Drive

I have upgraded!! Slightly. Just got a 1571, which I will use with a PC to make disks for the SX-64. I currently have an X-1541 cable I cobbled up, but I think I'll make an XE-1541 cable.

I'm thinking aluminum tape like what's used for duct work, just might do the trick. Then I just need to mount the 1541 board, and a cooling fan.
